This precious ring of English manufacture, dating back to the very first years of the twentieth century, perfectly embodies the romanticism and mastery of the Art Nouveau and Edwardian period. As the 18kt yellow gold band setting masterfully reveals, it houses a superb graduating river of three central antique-cut diamonds (the largest of which is 0.41ct), interspersed and finished with very delicate huit-huit cut diamonds.

📜 Historical Note & Curiosities: This ring is a typical example of a "Bridge Ring" or carved gallery ring from the late Victorian and early Edwardian era in England. The true masterpiece lies in the sides of the setting, entirely openworked and hand-carved with fluid volutes (called scrollwork) and botanical details that recall the whiplash typical of Art Nouveau. The antique-cut diamonds offer the characteristic "candlelight": hand-faceted one by one, they were designed to emit soft and deep flashes under the subdued lights of the rooms of the time. To complete the design and leave no empty spaces in the metal, the master goldsmiths set tiny huit-huit cut diamonds (a historical 17-facet cut widely used in the early twentieth century for contours), giving the ring an effect of continuous and regal sparkle.
